"Et au pire, on se mariera" (Worst Case, We Get Married) is a 2017 French-Canadian drama film directed by Léa Pool, based on the novel by Sophie Bienvenu. The film stars Sophie Nélisse as Aïcha, a troubled 14-year-old girl who struggles with the strained relationship with her mother Isabelle, played by Karine Vanasse. Aïcha's life takes a complicated turn when she meets Baz (Jean-Simon Leduc), a man twice her age, with whom she develops an intense and tumultuous relationship. The story explores themes of love, obsession, and the quest for identity amidst personal turmoil. The film received acclaim for its storytelling and performances, particularly by Nélisse and Vanasse. It also won the Women in Film and Television Artistic Merit Award at the Vancouver International Film Festival and earned a Prix Iris nomination for Vanasse for Best Supporting Actress.
